Case Studies

The UX/UI Hub mobile app, a valuable tool for aspiring UI/UX designers, struggled with an overcrowded "Resources" tab. I led the redesign to improve content organization and introduce new features like Podcasts.

Using Optimal Workshop's AI card sorting tool, I gathered insights from 11 UX/UI designers to develop user personas, user stories and inform the new information architecture. Working closely with stakeholder, we developed an intuitive sitemap with clear categories and created a rapid prototype to test navigation and new features.

The redesign simplified navigation and improved categorization, earning praise for usability and engagement. The project's success led to a collaboration with Optimal Workshop on a UX research case study. Next steps include guerrilla usability tests and UI design for the final release.

Globine Energy, a renewable energy startup, needed a mobile app to help Irish dairy farmers monitor biogas production from their AD system. As Lead Product Designer, I led a 4-week project with 2 designers to create an intuitive monitoring solution.

We conducted extensive research and competitor analysis to understand AD systems and Irish dairy farming. Using Figma, we developed user stories, task flows, and an information architecture that simplified technical data visualization. Our design system focused on accessibility and familiar mobile patterns, balancing complex data with intuitive navigation.

The final prototype achieved 100% success in usability testing. Our work helped Globine Energy position for €40 million in potential investment. Our work included documentation and dark mode recommendations. Lessons learned emphasized user-centered design, iterative feedback, and aligning technical and user needs for successful outcomes.

House2Home, an e-commerce platform for home decor, discovered that first-time movers struggle with selecting decor items. As the sole UX/UI designer, I was tasked with designing a landing page and shopping experience for curated "Starter Kits" to simplify the process.

I analyzed user surveys and interviews, creating an affinity map for key insights. Using Figma, I designed an intuitive interface featuring a personalized style quiz, filtering system, and visually appealing starter kit displays inspired by Pinterest and Houzz. This design reduced decision fatigue and increased user confidence, creating an experience tailored to simplify and enhance shopping.

Usability testing with five participants yielded positive feedback, with all users completing tasks successfully. The redesign reduced product screen abandonment to 0%. Minor improvements were identified, but overall, the design aligns with House2Home's goals to increase user confidence and drive conversion rates.

Sage, a fintech startup, needed a mobile app to expand their subscription management platform. As the sole UI/UX designer, I created a user-friendly iOS app to help users track, manage, and cancel subscriptions, solving the problem of forgotten recurring payments.

I analyzed and conducted competitor benchmarking with industry leaders like Trim and RocketMoney to uncover opportunities. Using Figma and sketches, I mapped user flows and modular architecture. After rapid prototyping and usability testing, I designed streamlined features for tracking, cancellations, and alerts. High-fidelity prototypes and a style guide embodied Sage’s friendly brand ethos.

The final prototype exceeded stakeholder expectations with its intuitive interface and streamlined processes. Users praised the app's simplicity, with one noting "It's refreshing to complete tasks so easily." The design successfully reduces financial stress for users managing subscriptions.

Solemate, an AI-powered iOS app, transforms online shoe shopping for users with unique health needs. As the sole UX/UI Designer, I developed an inclusive, personalized shopping experience during an 8-month USF UI/UX Design Course project.

I implemented a comprehensive waterfall design process, including secondary research, user interviews, personas, and user flows. Leveraging AI technology, I designed an engaging virtual assistant named "Cupisho" for personalized recommendations and created custom filters for health conditions. The process involved multiple iterations from sketches to high-fidelity prototypes.

The app received high praise during usability testing for its streamlined design and personalized features like AI shoe recommendations and unwanted shoe blacklists. It significantly improved user satisfaction, showcasing inclusive design's impact on e-commerce. Future plans involve implementing the Solemate Score for user-generated shoe ratings.
